The Dementia Safeguarding Scheme encourages carers, family and friends to provide useful information which can be used in the event of a person living with dementiagoing missing or who is in need of assistance. The information is captured in a form and is used to identify someone who is living with dementia that may need help or assistance.

How to Register
You can register for the Dementia Safeguarding Scheme via the Age Concern Causeway website. Simply scan the QR code on the wristband that you have been given (available from Age Concern Causeway or local GP surgeries) . You will be taken to a form on the website to enter your details and the details of the person with Dementia. These will be securely saved on our system.
The next time the QR code on the wristband is scanned (by emergency services or a person assisting them) it will show the emergency contact information that you have saved.

What happens when you join the Scheme?
You will be asked to provide personal information about the individual. It is important you make sure this information is accurate and that the individual is aware you are completing the form on their behalf.
This information is stored on our database and you will be responsible for keeping the information up to date.
As part of the Scheme, you can request a wearable wristband for the individual which stores electronic information about the wearer, such as their name and next of kin. The device can be scanned using any mobile device if the individual is found wandering or distressed.
Devices are only available for those with dementia and not any other type of medical condition.

If someone you know has Dementia you can sign up by registering your details below. We will then contact you to arrange a wristband. The wristband is free of charge, but you are welcome to make a donation to the charity.
